Final Self Reflection

Professional dispositions are often defined as the values, commitments, and professional ethics that influence behaviors toward students, families, colleagues, and communities and effect student learning, motivation, and development as well as the education own professional growth. Dispositions are guided by beliefs and attitudes related values such as caring, fairness, honesty, responsibility, and social justice. For example, they might belief that all students can learn.

However, being part of this course has a great impact on my life. I know that I have grown in my professional disposition because the more I learn the more I want to learn, I believe that all students can, if I am a teacher patient with them. The Trio Program (Talent Search Program) asked me to tutor at the primary school I am working at recently. Without hesitation I immediately accepted their request. We had so much fun learning from each other. I tutored 8th graders in both subjects (Math and Language Arts). I built a relationship with the students and from that point we respected one another and learned from each other. I enjoyed my time with my students by sharing with them what I learned by using multiple strategies that I just learned from this course. It had a great impact on my students.

It also changed a lot in me. Being part of this course taught me about the importance of managing my time well. I have come to realize now, that I can eliminate a number of distractions in order to complete my coursework or assignments. I have a full schedule every day except Saturday and Sunday. I created my own daily schedule to do the top priorities first to help reduce stress. The time given for each assignment is fair; I have enough time to work on each assignment.

Participation in the Moodle Forums was a great opportunity for me. I learned many important tools from my colleagues and I was able to share my ideas too. Instead of just reviewing the notes that were posted on the Moodle Forum, I do a quick summary and write down whatever I thought would be directly useful to me in my teaching. I was able to benefit from a variety of new things from this course.

Lastly, the biggest hurdle in this course for me was time management. I am a procrastinator and always have been so completing assignments on time was and still is a challenge for me but as I mention earlier I did make changes in my life so how I can manage time management.
