            Biblionasium (https://www.biblionasium.com) is a free website that is accessible to teachers, parents, and students. It is mostly focusing on reading skills. This website offers reading books online to learners’ age’s six to 12. It is made as an independent reading program for teachers and parents to use and manage students’ reading skills. Everything is virtual as all other websites but biblionasium takes a step further that is way different than the other websites. The teachers or parents will “set reading goals and rate and recommend books.” They can even create contests in reading that the students can do. For the students, in order to have access to this site must get permission by legal guardian or parent. Biblionasium makes it possible for teacher or parent to create virtual bookshelves that they will recommend or have as a required reading book for the students. The students will be able to read the book of their choice and rate the book. Then they can share the book they like to the other classmates and they rated each other’s book. This website gives the students the chance to comment on their view on the book they read and compare to the other’s reading comments and ideas.

            In order to use this website, clicked on the Join Us box and then select whether you are a teacher, parent, or student. Then the next page will show up and just fill out the information to create your own Biblionisium account. There on you can start adding up your virtual books to your bookshelves. After that you can start preparing your virtual classroom and the students. As a teacher or parent, you will assign the book for each of the students to read based reading level. You as a teacher or parent can also recommend the books for the students to read. You can check on the progress of the students on their reading progress.

    This website is a great help to increase a student’s reading skill and love of reading. It enhances independent readers to keep on reading and can also talk about the book and sharing opinions to other classmates. It also gives the students to find what kind of books they want to read. This website is a must to check out. Enjoy.

With each videos, it has remarkable graphics along with upbeat songs that allows teaching more fun. To sign up, you can easily go to the website and create a username by entering your email address. This website has a free trial, and you can also pay for subscription that cost $67 a year for more videos for your students. Using the platform, Flocabulary, you can easily find videos that matches your classroom lessons that can be exciting and fun for the students.   International Literacy Association (ILA) Newsletter Weekly Project:  Effective Literacy Website #5 Story Place: The Children’s Digital Learning Library is an online literacy platform that focuses on building literacy for children in Preschool. This site offers digital storybooks that are animated. When you click into one of the stories, you will see a few expansion activities below. There are online activities for children to do as well as hands-on crafting activities that have printable templates for teachers or parents.  Included are videos that relate to concepts or ideas learned in the storybook. These videos are used to expand upon ideas learned in the story. Under each story, there is a reading list that relates to the theme of the story.
