My sixth ILA Effective Literacy Website review is Read Theory (https://readtheory.org/.) This website is great resource for teachers to use. The website contains worksheets and lesson plans available for teachers to download and use. Read Theory is created and run by educators, so they know a thing or two of the types of resources that teachers need.
Signing up for Read Theory is free and it allows you to add your class by generating a code for the students to access. The website offers assessments that are graded by the website to give feedback to the progress of your students. Read Theory assigns passages to your students and are adjustable to meet the needs of your students. For example, a student who may need challenge are provided passages that help them progress and improve their skills in literacy. The website uses AI to determine students’ level and then provides them reading passages based on what they are able to do.  You are able to browse through the websites’ worksheet, all of which organized according to grade level, ELL, Adult Learners or Special Education. The worksheets provide the topic, Lexile Level and the number of questions. Each worksheet provided come with the reading passages, text questions and the answers.
Aside from providing free worksheets, assessments and lesson plans, Read Theory also shares professional development articles to teachers. In the Teachers’ Lounge tab. These articles are written by the educators and contributors to Read Theory. The articles cover ELA, teacher strategies and tips and also highlights a teacher to share their knowledge with fellow teachers.
This website has been impressive with its collection of worksheets, assessments and articles to supply the needs of teachers. The best part about this website is that the sign up is free with the availability of sharing worksheets and activities to your students. Read Theory also provides automatic feedback to your students after they have completed the worksheets and other activities, so this makes it a hassle free for teachers when it comes to seeing results.
