Mr. Nussbaum (https://mrnussbaum.com/) is an online educational platform that was developed with the central idea that the essential standards of a general education curriculum can be taught effectively over the internet through engaging activities. In essence, Mr. Nussbaum is an online resource that offers dozens of interactive games that educators can introduce to their K-8 students. Each game offered through this site focuses on a certain standard or skill that is taught in a regular classroom. The website offers a wide range of games for all content areas such as math, reading, history, science, geography, and language arts. Most importantly for educators of literacy, skills such as capitalization, cause and effect identification, punctuation, and editing are some examples of reading and writing concepts that have been gamified through Mr. Nussbaum.

The website originated as an early-internet age platform for a second grade teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia to display images, lesson plans, and blurbs about his classroom. The website has since then grown with the aim to become a go-to source for educators across the nation looking for supplemental educational practice for key concepts. Now, parents or educators are able to access MrNussbaum.com without much hassle. There, they can find not only a library full of educational and interactive games for the children, but also curriculum guides on when best to introduce these games during a lesson.

Additional benefits to this online website includes the fact that each game lists important data for curriculum alignment. This means that when teachers peruse the vast library of games, they can also filter for Common Core standards that align to the game, recommended grade levels for each activity, and other pertinent or relevant information.
